PreWatcher!
PreWatcher is a fully automatic image processing system, providing 100% quality control for the production of translucent PET preforms.
The system's three main components are the preform input device, the image processing system for optical inspection and the rejection system for defects.
In addition to geometrical inspection of preform dimensions and finding specks, PreWatcher reads mould cavity numbers by which performs with a predefined number can be sorted out.
A benefit highlight is spectrometric colour measurement to detect minimal colour differences.
PreWatcher can be used for either on-line preform inspection immediately downstream of the injection moulding machine or off-line for post-processing.
The system is very easy to adjust to accommodate changing preform types. The throughput rate is 25,200
preforms per hour.
The software is extremely user friendly. Reprogramming for new preform types is not necessary – important
settings are made by the push of a button. Tolerances can be adjusted even while in operation.
Furthermore, on-line help is available as needed.
Icons and a touch screen are used to enhance user friendliness of the graphical interface.
